They confirm a clients sense of arrival and give direction.So when Philpotts Interiors Marion Philpotts -Miller was faced with creating one for the firms new Honolulu headquarters, 40 South School Street, she pulled out all the stops.Custom built, the desk sits on a floor of dark Basalt tiles that contrast with its white oak body and roughly chiseled surface. " We wanted a generous work space for the receptionist and knew it had to be more than a simple desk", says Philpotts-Miller." We consulted with our staff and came up with a Basalt countertop and an oak body to give texture and warmth. Making things function beautifully is what we do".
