From a standard 60's office exterior to a non standard office interior sits this primarily polycarbonate reception desk for the headquarters of the Architects Registration Board designed by Architects - Rijke Marsh Morgan. Approx 10 years ago FX voted the project 'best small office' and it has certainly stood the test of time. There are some 'standard' reception desks on the market today that use formed clear acrylic counter tops in a similar fashion but thermally curving on such a scale is quite a feat.
Thanks to the future Dean of Architecture at the RCA, Alex de Rijke @ dRMM Architects for the images and also to Furniture Maker Peter Billing ( view his site for a gorgeous selection of home grown hardwood unique furniture pieces) who made the reception desk.
